Do you offer custom creations?

How long does the process take?
Due to the high volume of custom requests we receive, it takes about 5-7 business days to respond to your initial inquiry. After a consultation is set up and designs have been presented, adjusted and finalized, production generally takes about 4-6 weeks. While we have made miracles happen, it's best to allow yourself at least 2-3 months for the entire custom process.
I submitted an inquiry and haven't heard back.
Double check your spam folder for any missed communication- this is usually the culprit! We also receive a number of inquiries that simply don't contain any contact information. If it's possible this has happened to you, please reach out to us via email at email@example.com or resubmit your survey.
Can we do a consultation in person?
Yes! If you're in the San Diego area, or are planning a visit please let us know so we can schedule a studio appointment in the historic Gaslamp district. You can indicate this on your survey or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Can you remake my family heirloom into something more current?
While I love giving new life to existing jewelry, all pieces must be inspected before guaranteeing any work. We can absolutely reuse existing stones if they are in good condition, but we do not reuse metal from vintage jewelry at this time.
I have a photo of a piece of jewelry that I'd like- can you make it?
Photo references are incredibly helpful to determine the style we're aiming for, however, we will not design exact replicas of existing jewelry.
I love a ring that's already available on your site, can I have it made with another metal/stone/etc?
Absolutely! Shoot us an email at email@example.com with a link to the ring you want to customize, and a short description of what you'd like to change. We can make any style in the following precious metals: 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold as well as platinum.
I'm interested in a custom engagement ring, but I have no idea where to start. What information do I need to know?
First, congratulations on finding your person and wanting to make a commitment to them! When you're ready to take our survey, please note you or your partner's ring size, metal color preference, a general idea of what stone you might want (if you need some guidance we're happy to help!), and your budget.

I want to order a gift, do you offer gift wrapping? Gift receipts?
We do not offer gift wrapping at this time, but each piece arrives beautifully packaged and is suitable for gift giving. We do not offer gift receipts at this time.
To return a gift, please ship the item back and email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the item and order number. We can use this as a store credit for your next selection.

What is Demi-fine jewelry?
Demi-fine jewelry is the bridge between fashion and fine jewelry. Demi-fine jewelry utilizes precious materials like sterling silver and gold plating. Fine jewelry utilizes solid gold materials, and fashion jewelry utilizes any medium like brass, resin, clay, etc.
How do I take care of my jewelry?
For your sterling silver and gold plated or vermeil pieces, the best way to keep your piece looking great is to avoid sweating, bathing or sleeping in them. Give them an occasional polish with a silver polishing cloth and avoid ultrasonic cleaners. Fine jewelry and diamonds can be cleaned with gentle soap and water as well as checked annually for prong tightening and polishing. What is the return process like?
Return shipping labels are included with each order shipped in the US in the event that you don’t love it. Please return with all original packaging, with no signs of wear within 30 days of original purchase. The prepaid return label will expire after 30 days from purchase. If you have questions, or want to process a return on an international order, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Custom and made to order items are not eligible for returns unless specified. Any returns made on custom and made to order items are solely at the discretion of Chouette Designs.
How long will it take for my return be processed? When will I receive my refund?
Once your item has arrived back to us, please allow up to 10 business days for refunds to be returned back to your account.
I purchased an item and now it is on sale- can I receive a price adjustment?
Yes, if your original purchase was within 14 days of the mark down. Please email us at email@example.com to complete the adjustment.
What is your exchange policy?
A form to exchange is included in every order. Upon returning your piece(s), we will do our best to accommodate an exchange if items are available. If items are not available, we will offer a refund, and a new purchase for an alternative item can be made at that time. For assistance, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
How do I return a gifted piece?
A return label is included in your package. Please ship the item back and email us at email@example.com with the item and order number. The item will be credited back to the original form of purchase or store credit.
Do you offer repairs?
We offer repairs for fine and custom jewelry and on a case by case basis. Please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more specific repair concerns.
I bought diamond studs from Chouette Designs, how do I take advantage of the upgrade program?
Thank you for purchasing your stud earrings from us! If you'd like to upgrade the carat size of your diamond studs, please send your original proof of purchase email or order number to email@example.com. We will respond to your email with a return label for your existing diamond studs, along with an invoice for the price difference of the preferred carat size studs. Studs can only be exchanged for an upgrade in carat size. Colored diamond studs are also eligible for the upgrade program and can be exchanged for another color at the time of upgrade. We reserve the right to end the stud upgrade program or reject a request for an upgrade at any time and for any reason.

Is expedited shipping available?
Yes, we offer expedited 1-2 day US shipping via UPS for a fee of $20.

How is my order shipped?
Your order is shipped via USPS or UPS and may require a signature.
Can I change my shipping address after my order has been placed?
Please contact us at email@example.com as soon as you know your shipping address is incorrect. If we have not already shipped your item, we can make the adjustment. Unfortunately, once the item has shipped we are unable to make changes.
Can I cancel my order?
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as you’d like to cancel. If we have not already shipped your item, we can make the cancellation. Unfortunately we cannot cancel the order once the item has shipped, but we would be happy to process a return.
Do holidays change the shipping times?
We always work to get your US order to you within 4-10 business days, however, during peak holiday times in December, please allow up to 12 business days. For international delivery, please allow up to 25 business days during peak shipping times.
Is signature required upon delivery?
We require a signature upon delivery for any order over $500, and all custom orders.
